Katelyn Shirai
|
Katelyn Shirai served for over 2 years as the CCB President. During her terms, she grew to embody what a dedicated leader and a member is. She never ceased to help out other committees, whether that would Facilities Management, Campus Relations, or even help by staying up late to decorate our End of the Year Banquet. She had passion for what CCB stands for, and she looks forward to what Campus Center Board does in the next years. She graduated in the Spring of 2019 and plans to move on to Medical School to become a doctor.

Major: Political Science & Economics Interesting fact: I am polygot. Why did you join CCB? I joined Campus Center Board to gain transferable skill before I entered the work force. Through CCB I was able to learn how policies are implemented and how public universities receive and allocate funds. With this opportunity, I was able to have a hand in decisions that are related to the student union and see things through from start to finish related to my interests in budgeting, finance, rules, and policy. |

Why did you join CCB? Becoming a member of the Campus Center Board is my way of giving back to entire community of University of Manoa. Whether its to students or faculty, its always a warm hearted feelings to make someone smile. Aside from that I hope to meet new people who I can develop great relationships with to inspire and be inspired by. With my out of the box mentality and innovative state of mind I hope to be the light of the team, especially through out the most stressful situations. Life is too short to be anything but happy and that is something I promise to always live by when it comes to delegating a hard working environment. All in all, being part of the change in a community and making a difference is what tickles my heart with happiness to make a life worth living. |
